Welcome to this week’s edition of Aloha Friday. In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too.
Therefore, Kailani has a simple question for us to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response. If you’d like to participate, just post your own question on your blog and leave your link below. Then return to An Island Life and post your answer to her question in her comments. Don’t forget to visit the other participants! It’s a great way to make new bloggy friends!

I started back to school yesterday for my Medical Coding and Billing certification. This is a short term goal compared to various other goals I have created for myself in the medical field. Let's just say I want to be able to handle all of the office work, as well as being a Registered Nurse (maybe one day a doctor). It is my belief that as long as I am able to afford it I will further my education in the field of Health-care. After my medical coding and billing I am going to get my Associates in Business Administration for Health Services while working towards my BSN for my RN at the same time. My motivation has always been my love of helping others, but I now have a new motivation too. When I saw friends being killed and then my husband being injured it made me realize that my lifestyle may appear stable, but anything can change that. If anything, God forbid, ever happens I want to be able to take care of my family.
My question for you is (be sure to leave your answer in my comments):
What are you currently working towards?

You have some very admirable goals! :)
Currently I'm working towards having my own small winery. I won't be 'growing' it further or actually having the winery itself until after we move, since that will be happening in the next year or so. Then it'll be time to pull out all the stops! :)
Aloha: Electric or Manual
I'm working towards owning my own Bed & Breakfast, maybe in Maine. Right now, we are just visiting a few a year to see what we like & don't like, so we call it the Research & Development phase, but in about 15 years or so, we're heading up north!
the medical field is really not my thing!
my goals have been towards the family and the kids right now. I am making sure that I don't miss a thing in the 1st 5 years of my kids.
GL at becoming an RN...more caring and compassionate people are needed in the field. It appears that I am older than you since I am a "retired" RN due to a medical disability. The goals at my age are to see my sons happily married, give hubby and I grandchildren, and in several years, when hubby retires, enjoy the rest of our lives.
I'm working towards getting my laundry done before I have to leave the house.
Have a great day!

I wish you the best of luck with your goals. I too am in the medical field. My goal is to start a local food pantry for people whose health conditions require special diets. (And maybe eventually get my master's degree.)
Working towards more freelance writing. Since there are no teaching jobs, and being home with my kids is important, I am expanding my horizons in many directions.

I am working towards trying to go back to school for my M.B.A but with a little one of 4, FT job, it may be awhile.

Good luck with your goals!!
I am working on my blog these days. I would really like to be able to make some real money through it in time so that I don't have to go back into the work field and be home for my kids at whatever age they are.
Hi, I'm working towards finishing my degree in Education and improving myself so that I can be a good English teacher in the future. Found you through FTLOB and now following. Come visit mine=)
